Diasporic translation is a research concept and methodological approach within Translation Studies that investigates the manifold roles of translation and linguistic-cultural mediation within and between diasporic communities, their host societies, and their homelands. It examines how translation practices are shaped by conditions of displacement and dispersal and how they contribute to the formation, maintenance, and transformation of diasporic identities, cultures, and communities. Characterized by its focus on multilingualism, hybridity, power relations, and the negotiation of multiple affiliations, this field offers critical insights into the complex dynamics of language, culture, and communication in transnational and migrant contexts.
